It was a brisk Saturday morning of February when we arrived at Lunderston Bay.
While one group attended the garden plot near the children playground, under the pleasant shades of pine trees, the other combed the beach near the small bridge, collecting litter on the beach of sand that was strewn with algae that had washed ashore, and paying particular attention to cotton buds. Would that more people were conscious of the damage to nature litter, and especially plastic litter, represents, it would be a better world.

The Greenock Cut Volunteers group plan to repair chicken wire along the boardwalk of the Cornalee’s Nature trail was another occasion for us to stroll on the Greenock cut and down Shielhill glen and into the woods the woods part, and it was another opportunity for me to straggle behind, enjoying the beauty and serenity of the place, while, now and then, snapping a few photographs.

Today was the Great British Clean Beach event at Lunderston bay, organised in collaboration with the Marine Conservation Society and the Clyde Muirshiel Regional Park.
